βMoriah is one of the nicest and most genuine dance teachers weβve ever run across. I had two left feet before I started working with Moriah. Now Iβm feeling better about the steps and learning how to lead.β

βIβve been Cajun and Zydeco dancing for a very long time, but itβs always great to take lessons again. Moriah has a beautiful style of dancing to Zydeco. I love her style and how she moves. Iβve seen her dance for years, and I want to dance like her. I learned a different style of Zydeco with Moriah than what I was originally taught, and itβs always fun to learn something new. Even for seasoned dancers, I highly recommend coming to Moriahβs classes. Youβre gonna learn something new. Moriah is a fantastic instructor. Even if youβve been dancing for 20 years, sheβs got something to teach you.β

βMoriah is absolutely wonderful! Sheβs a legend around here and probably much further than around here. Weβre so excited to be in her classes. My husband has started to lead since taking classes with Moriah. I was the leader before! And now my goal is to start moving my hips like Moriah. She must be double-jointed or something!β
Pat N.
βMoriah is such a beautiful, bright light in this world, and I love that she is teaching others to do what brings her so much joy! Since taking dance classes with Moriah, sheβs given me the confidence that Iβve needed to feel more comfortable dancing Zydeco. Moriah is so patient and walks you through each dance, step by step. I believe that dancing is a form of therapy for the soul, and I can't think of anyone better for the job!β

βOk, my friends, definitely take dance lessons with the best teacher! You do NOT have to know how to dance. Thatβs kinda the point. ;) You do not need to be shy or embarrassed. Moriah is a blast and the sweetest. Everyone who has been in any of the classes Iβve attended have been great, fun people. Itβs a great thing to do with your special someone, a bestie, a group of friends, or even solo. You will have a great time!β
Charlene D.
βMoriah is awesome. Sheβs the best teacher and very knowledgeable. She takes her time and makes you feel comfortable. I was used to Cajun music, but Zydeco is not the same thing. Moriah is so good at showing the leaders how to lead and the followers how to follow. I am really enjoying this season of learning how to follow and trust! I learned so many new steps with Moriah. Iβm so thankful for Moriahβs patience and always being the wonderful, beautiful, and special person she is.β

βMoriah is a dynamo! Iβve been taking dance classes with her for several months because she is very skilled and knowledgeable. She really helped me catch on to Zydeco. If youβre hesitant about taking lessons, which most of us are, just know that Moriah is patient and really works with everyone. She gives as much one-on-one as possible in the bigger group classes and demonstrates how youβre supposed to carry out the moves. She is very creative and skilled. Sheβs articulate and breaks down the lessons into something that you can understand. And on top of all that, sheβs just a nice person, and that helps too!β
Ken D.
βWe all had a blast dancing, and everyone at our special event thought Moriah had the best energy and personality!β
Desiree J.
βI love that Moriah is so knowledgeable and passionate about dancing and the culture. I also admire how dedicated she is to her faith. Sheβs just the sweetest. I love learning from her!β
Crystal H.
βIt was difficult at first to understand all the steps and remember what youβre supposed to do, but Moriah was so good about coming around to make sure you knew what you were doing. She never made you feel bad about yourself. Sheβd cut up and laugh, and she made it fun!β
Mona W.
βMoriah is a professional, but sheβs also a lot of fun. She breaks it down so that anybody can understand and follow. I didnβt know how to Zydeco at all, but Moriah worked with me repeatedly until I got it.β
Courtney A.
βMoriah helped me to be a better leader and dancer because I was always following my wife, who taught me how to dance. Now Iβm learning different ways to dance and how to lead her through the dance. Dancing is an absolute joy! Weβve also met plenty of friends in this dancing community!β
Matt R.
βPrior to dance classes with Moriah, we definitely struggled with being out in public and dancing. So with these classes, weβve learned different types of Zydeco styles, Two Steps, Whiskey River, Jitterbug, and I feel a lot more confident that whenever we go out, we will be able to cut a rug on the dance floor!β
Chelsea B.
βIβd go out and watch everybody dancing, and I wanted to learn, but I struggled with it. They would do it so fast, and I couldnβt figure it out. But I really enjoyed Moriahβs classes. If you donβt know how to dance, Moriah is the one. Nobody sits there or laughs at you or anything. Itβs just really a whole lot of fun. Go meet Moriah. Youβll be glad you did!β
Brenda C.
βComing into these classes, I didnβt have a lot of confidence to dance. I never knew how to Zydeco, but I always wanted to learn. I was afraid at first, but Moriah made it so easy. I just really feel good now because Iβve learned a lot.β
Becky M.
βI took several dance lessons with Moriah, and we love it! Weβre trying to do it the right way, make Louisiana proud, and keep the culture moving on. We absolutely love Moriah! If somebodyβs thinking about taking this class, they should do it regardless of what skill level they have. Whether youβre a good dancer or have never danced before, Moriah will teach you the right way! When you walk out that door right there, youβre ready to go dancing!β
Eric P.
βLearning the basic Zydeco Two Step was confusing to me when I first tried to do it, and I felt like I would never catch on. But after working with Moriah, I gained lots of confidence and can dance so much better now! Give it a shot if youβre not sure. Moriah can help.β
Quan N.
βThereβs no debate when it comes to who you should learn from in the Cajun and Zydeco dance scene. Moriah is great. I wouldnβt want to learn from anybody else. I really didnβt know how to dance, but I was willing to learn. I wanted to learn. Now I can go dance with people and have a little bit of confidence.β
Chris F.
βI tell everyone to come take classes with Moriah. I loved to watch people Zydeco and wanted to get out there and dance, but I wasnβt sure how to do it properly. Now, when people approach me when Iβm out dancing, I feel so much more comfortable dancing with different partners and learning from other dancers instead of overthinking it and stressing out.β
Amelie W.
βMoriah is smart, entrepreneurial-minded, and generous. She is an excellent dancer with wonderful people skills! Sheβs truly a master motivator.β
Kerry D.
βThank you for the excellent lesson! You taught me more in 30 minutes than Iβve been able to learn over the last 20 years. Looking forward to practicing more with your instructional videos.β
Angie P.
βI started taking classes with Moriah about a year ago after moving to Lafayette. I wanted to meet some new people and have fun. I had never really been around a lot of Zydeco before moving to Lafayette, and I didnβt know how to dance. So when I started coming to the classes, they were fun and gave me so much confidence. Moriahβs energy and personality are contagious. She shows you step by step what youβre supposed to do while keeping it fun. Sheβs such a great dancer that you just want to be even a smidgeon as good a dancer as she is, and she really makes you feel like thatβs possible. Itβs just a great, fun time!β
Patty D.
βWhether youβre new to Louisiana dance or youβre an avid dancer, these classes with Moriah are amazing! Sheβs gonna meet you where you are, no matter what your skillset is. And with that, youβre gonna get culture and have a blast. One of the things we struggled with was confidence on the dance floor. Weβd go out and watch other people dance, but we didnβt have the confidence to get out there and do it ourselves. So now we have the confidence. Weβre getting out there and doing a little twirl!β
Diana F.
βMoriah is truly the best. She has such a passion for Zydeco and Cajun dancing, and that comes through in her ability to teach and lead so strongly. I didnβt know how to dance at all, much less anything about Zydeco. I moved here from Texas, and I wanted to learn more about the culture and dancing. So I was starting from scratch, an empty slate. I learned so many different styles and moves with Moriah, and now I can go out dancing and pretty much be ok. Moriah has such a great personality, so even if youβre like me with no dance experience at all, you can walk in and sheβll encourage you without ever making you feel stupid.β
Hannah C.
βMoriah is a wonderful, talented young lady whom I have followed for a while now. At the beginning, it was her dancing that attracted me to her. However, as I got to know her, I realized that she was a lady of many talents!β
Loicy B.
βWe rely so heavily on great community partners for our educational programming, and Moriah provided the kinds of cultural and educational experiences that we pride ourselves on here at Vermilionville. The dance event she put together was a great and entertaining way to expose our community to a bit of our Folklife in a unique and exciting way. Weβre so thankful for her adding her skills and energy to our program.β
Brady M.
βI love it so much. I started taking Moriahβs classes to keep my mind and body occupied during a tough season, but I had no idea how much it would do for my soul. I've made so many new friends. Moriah creates whole communities of joy, love, and companionship with what she does. I've started learning to do something I've always wanted to do, and it feels so good to smile again after a really difficult 6 months. Moriah has helped me more than sheβll ever know.β
Amelie H.
βMy husband and I enjoy dance lessons with Moriah so very much! I appreciated Moriahβs pointers and feedback given in a way that we didnβt feel intimidated or judged. She has such a down-to-earth teaching style, and her love of dancing shines through! Such a great experience learning from her!β
Julie S.
βI had a lot of anxiety and shyness because I didnβt know how to dance Zydeco. Moriah knows how to break it down for you so you can really learn the steps. I have had so much fun that Iβve booked classes for the next few months because Iβve enjoyed it so much!β
Helen M.
βBefore I started working with Moriah, I knew a little bit of Zydeco, but I was mostly a Cajun dancer. I would see lots of Zydeco people doing all these crazy moves, and Iβd wonder how they were doing all that. Iβve learned so much working with Moriah, and now I can really get more out there with Zydeco. If youβre not sure about taking classes, Iβd say just do it!β
